HALLE BERRY INSPIRED ME TO STRETCH MORE
I hope you had a wonderful Monday! Today’s blog post is inspired by Halle Berry! One of my favorite female actress, by the way my husband and I just watched her movie Kidnap, it was great. So back to Halle inspiring me, she posted on her Instagram on March 2nd that stretching is very important for the body, and fitness is not just running, lifting weights and eating healthy. Yes and yes I totally agree!
I think it was about 2 years ago, I did a blog post on stretching THE IMPORTANCE OF STRETCHING BEFORE AND AFTER A WORKOUTand I am a firm believer that stretching is very important for your body. Even thou stretching has not been at the top of my fitness plan lately, I really want to get back into it. So thank you Halle Berry for the reminder on why we should stretch more.
The benefits of stretching:
Increase mobility
Increase flexibility
Helps with aches and pains
Strengthen the muscles
Helps prevent back pain
Helps with anxiety/ breathing
Keeps the muscles strong and healthy
Prevents Arthritis
Over the weekend I did a 10 minutes abs routine and a 20 minutes stretching session. While I was stretching I had to focus on the moves which really helped to take my mind off the negative thoughts and focus on the movements. I also had control of my breathing which felt soothing. After stretching, my muscles were less tense and less tight.
Stretching is definitely something that needs to be done regularly, so you can become more comfortable with certain posture, movements and flexibility. You do not have to be an athlete to stretch because us regular people can also benefit from stretching, at least 3 days a week for 5-10 minutes and holding each stretch for 30 seconds.
I challenge you to start stretching, even on the days you do not work out. Let’s take our fitness goals to the next level!
